The environment is never far from peoples thoughts when thinking about building and construction. Not just the production of the building materials but also the distance they are shipped to get them to the construction site. Here at the Cast iron Air Brick Company, we send our vents and drains all over the world including Borneo, New Zealand and right across Europe and the USA so we’re well aware of the distances our goods have to fly. To compensate for the amount of CO2 and the fuel we use with all this travelling we’ve planted our very own wood , 350 trees in total. We already have 12 acres of woods surrounding our workshop so we’re already absorbing tons of CO2 more than our production and shipping produce. We also source and produce all our products here in the UK so we hardly generate any pollution getting them to our worksops .
Fact, each tree can absorb 48 pounds of CO2 per year which means our newly planted wood will eventually absorb 16,800 pounds per year and we already have 12 acres with approx 300 trees per acre which means we’re absorbing over 175,000 pounds per year CO2 !
This is great news for the environment and even better news for our customers, no matter were in the world they live, as they know we’ve taken care of our CO2 emissions .
We’re doing even more for the environment, with some exciting recycling initiatives – come back later to read more, here on the blog page
